Cooking a new dish can be difficult. You often worry about the details. How much salt should I add? How big should the piece of vegetables be? Is the oven too hot?
In 2017, IKEA Canada solved this problem with a very smart idea.
They launched a campaign called "Cook This Page."
What was the idea?
IKEA created recipe posters. But these were not for the wall. They were printed on baking paper (parchment paper) using safe, edible ink.
How did it work?
The paper worked like a simple guide.
It had drawings of every ingredient you needed for the dish.
Salt: There was a specific circle for salt. You just filled the circle.
Sauce: There was a line for sauce. You squeezed the sauce until it matched the line.
Main Item: There was a drawing of the fish or meatballs. You placed the food directly on top of the drawing.
Once you filled all the spots on the paper, you just rolled it up, put the whole thing in the oven and after a few minutes the dish was ready.
All 12,500 papers were snatched up in hours, and a furniture store taught a nation how to cook.
