The campaign that went viral on Youtube

This shot is on the viral marketing campaign by BlendTec (around 2007)
BlendTec is an Utah (US) based company. It was primarily known for its commercial blenders used in food mills. The company wasn’t a familiar name in the retail market.
To get their name out to the general public, the company tried something very outrageous.
They created a YouTube channel and launched a series of videos called “ will it blend?"
The CEO of Blendtec, Tom Dickson would feature in the video dressing up like a scientist and trying to blend golf balls, pens, beer bottles, etc. in their blender.
Their claim to fame was the Iphone video. A perfect example of MOMENT MARKETING.
As soon as the first Iphone was launched in 2007, Blendtec aired a video in which Dickson was seen blending an Iphone into bits. The video crossed 3.5 million views on YouTube. Almost all the major publications did a story on this video.
You don’t always need big budgets to go viral. Sometimes a small budget with a great idea can do wonders.
