Shot #24: Cake Delivered by Lemonade
Hi,
Here’s another amazing example where we can see a brand delighting a customer and it paid back!
I discovered this example on Harry’s Marketing Examples Blog
Lemonade, an American Insurance Company wished one of their loyal customers (Andrew) with a personalised message on his birthday. Their team got together for a group photo and wished him with a message written on a white board.
They sent him this photo via email
Impressed by the gesture, the customer turned to Twitter to thank the company.
Seeing this, Lemonade sent him a birthday cake which was delivered to his workplace (SMART!)
Andrew tweeted about this again.
This small gesture went a long way:-
Needless to say, Andrew is now their brand evangelist
Andrew’s Twitter followers got to know that Lemonade is a cool brand
Andrew’s colleagues who enjoyed the cake at his workplace now know Lemonade is an awesome insurance co.
The company used this to post on their social media showing that insurance companies can be cool too!
Like me, a lot of people would have shared this example, indirectly spreading awareness about the brand which again will benefit the company
