Shot #41 : Brands have figured out these 5 things
(About Influencer Marketing)
Hi,
Here’s your shot for this week.
Credits to GrowthTactics team for writing a thread.
My learnings 👇
Brands that are winning with influencer marketing have figured out these 5 thingsNumber 1:
GrowthTactics has categorised the influencers into 3 types
Nano: under 10K followers
Micro: 10K - 100K followers
Macro: >100K followers
If you’re a startup, you should focus only on Nano or maybe micro depending your marketing budget. Here’s why?
Influencers with smaller followings are more accessible, trusted & have very niche audience as compared to macro influencers.
Most of them will agree to do a campaign for a free product because influencer marketing is not their full-time job.
Number 2:
Brands get a higher ROI when they create campaigns that make their influencers feel like they're promoting THEMSELVES and not the products.
The best example is “fan giveaways”. Influencers doing giveaways of your product to increase their follower count would get you higher ROI than just promoting your product in their post/video.
Number 3:
Influencer marketing can do wonders if you sell high quality physical products.
-Influencers prefer to promote products that are talk-worthy-Physical products show well through video & photo
Number 4:
Choose “creator” over “shoutout” influencers
Creators care more about quality of content than follower count that leads to more engagements. Offer them creative control so that the content doesn’t look scripted.
Number 5:
Performance Influencer Marketing
If you’re in for long-term game with the influencers, offer the best creators some cash plus incentive (% of sale ) that comes through them.
This approach often leads to long-term, win-win partnerships with them.
